Waccasassa Water and Wastewater Cooperative Financials
What is the Waccasassa Water and Wastewater Cooperative?
The purpose of forming the W3C is to implement a regional water supply and wastewater disposal cooperative across Levy County. This will require a regional infrastructure program and a long-term commitment to sustainable water resources. The planned infrastructure includes a water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, and approximately 35 miles of water and wastewater pipeline.
Why is this program needed?
Water quantity and quality are issues statewide. Residents want access to clean water and the ability to safely dispose of sewage and wastewater, all while protecting our natural resources. And they need it to be affordable. To meet these challenges, a regional approach offers many advantages. The infographic below illustrates these advantages and the specific benefits that the W3C will offer the residents of member communities.
